This manual should work for all Series 40 3rd edition, Feature Pack 2 phones which are: Nokia 6300, Nokia 3500 classic, Nokia 3110 classic and Nokia 5300 XpressMusic

How to start?

You can browse the list of supported devices, then go to Phonecopy.com to create an online account.

Registration on Phonecopy.com

Phonecopy client registration is simple. Choose your username and insert your email address, where we will send you a confirmation email that you will need to activate your account.

Nokia 6300 cellphone setup

To have your contacts saved you have to synchronize the Nokia 6300 with PhoneCopy. To show how to set up the synchronization we've made some screenshots. If those screenshot differ from you specific cell phone, follow the steps from it's Phonecopy manual. Create a new synchronization profile in the menu:

Select Settings Select Configuration Select Personal config. sett. Choose Add

Select Synchronization

Follow the instructions to set up the connection. If you're only saving contacts, you can leave out some of the steps, or you can backup you calendar, tasks and notes as well. For Server address fill in http://www.phonecopy.com/sync

Type phoneCopy Choose Contacts database Type in contacts Choose Calendar database

Type in calendar Choose Notes database Type in notes

You are now almost ready to start synchronization!

Select PhoneCopy Select activate Activation done

Start the synchronization now. You can select the data to be synchronized before starting. If you are transferring only contact, choose to transfer contacts only. However if you want to use PhoneCopy as a backup platform and you have made the corresponding settings, choose Calendar, Tasks and Notes as well.

Click Connectivity Choose Data transfer Choose Server sync Choose Edit

Choose Sync settings Choose Personal config. Choose Synchronised data Tick everything you wish to backup

Choose yes

Assign your Nokia 6300 to your PhoneCopy account

After your phone is synchronized, go back to your PhoneCopy online profile (probably you will have it still open in the browser since you activated your account) and accept the assignment of your phone to the account. If you do it within the hour after the synchronization, the phone will be assigned automatically and you will only need to confirm the process. If the delay is greater than one hour, you will be asked by the server for the cellphone's identification number, called IMEI. This number can be easily found under the battery of the cellphone, or you can type in the symbols *#06# and the IMEI will appear on the display.

Some additional tips

Just as a reminder, the contacts are carried via your mobile phone service provider, so you need to have data transfers activated for the service to work. If you you don't have a special data scheme, your carrier will charge you additional fees (during our testing, ca 500 contacts cost approximately 1,5 USD for all the data carried during a full syncronization, service provided by O2). Contact can be then transferred to another device eg. iPhone, other Nokia, SonyEricsson, Samsung, LG etc). You can edit your contacts in your online account. PhoneCopy is often used as a ultimate backup service, should you loose your phone or the stored data, or if you just run out of battery and you need to see your contacts online. Also, on your online account, you will see full history of your contacts, as well as the data that you've deleted in between the synchronizations. You can find them in an archvie from where you can restore them. And if this is still not enough of a backup for you, you can download a .CSV file, that you can store in your computer.

The whole backup, including the settings, can be done in several minutes and the service is completely free.
